Blender Foundation: Status Update Week 43

So, a quick status update from last week. During the begin of the week I was busy with fixing up our installer script, so that it won’t delete everything without properly warning and so on. After that I did release log work, some SVN and tracker stats for the period Blender 2.54-Blender 2.55. On Thursday I travelled to the Netherlands or the Blender Conference 2010, so I haven’t been able to do much sensible on the bug tracker or related work. Blender 2.5 r30866

Hi, I’ve updated my builds over on Graphicall.org again.

For the win32 builds FFTW3 support (used in Smoke simulation) is now enabled too, whereas for the 64bit builds it already was there.

Fixes to Blender installers

I’ve just uploaded new installers for Blender to Graphicall.org:

The fixes in these binaries are:

  • win64 version had default install path pointing to C:\Program Files (x86)
  • links from start menu weren’t properly removed
  • update to later vcredist, so there won’t be temp files hanging around after install

I’ve also enabled the blenderplayer, so you should be able to find that too!

Again, please test drive them and report back.

Enjoy!

Windows installers fixed – call for testers

I’ve been working on the installers for Blender over the past few days, and I think I’ve finally nailed it. I’ve uploaded them on Graphicall.org, so head over there, grab your copy and test the installer.

Please post results (both positive and negative) in the comments. Thanks!

Enjoy,
